Compost application rates
For garden beds, apply 1–3 inches of compost and work it into the top 6 inches. For new lawns, apply 1–2 inches. For top-dressing existing lawns, use ¼–½ inch. Quality compost improves soil structure, adds nutrients, and increases water retention.
