Tree spacing guide
Spacing between trees determines how many fit per acre. Square spacing (grid pattern) is simplest; triangular spacing fits ~15% more trees per acre. Common spacings: 8×8 ft (680/acre, pulpwood), 12×12 ft (300/acre, timber), 20×20 ft (109/acre, orchard).
