PPM to Molarity conversion

For dilute aqueous solutions, 1 ppm ≈ 1 mg/L (assuming solution density ≈ 1 g/mL). To convert to molarity:

Molarity = ppm / (Molar Mass × 1000)

Example: 50 ppm of NaCl (M = 58.44 g/mol) = 50 / (58.44 × 1000) = 8.56 × 10⁻⁴ M

ppm (mg/L)
e.g. NaCl = 58.44, CaCO₃ = 100.09
g/mol
