Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) is a measure of the dissolved combined content of all inorganic and organic substances present in a liquid. It is often estimated from electrical conductivity (EC).
TDS = EC × k
The factor k typically ranges from 0.55 to 0.8, with 0.67 being a common average for natural waters.
