Actual yield from percent yield
If you know the theoretical yield and percent yield, you can back-calculate the actual yield (mass of product actually obtained):
Actual Yield = (% Yield / 100) Ă— Theoretical Yield
This is useful when planning experiments—estimating how much product you'll realistically collect based on historical yield data for a reaction.
